Local Grocery Store Offers Online Orders, Lot Pickup

Stop & Shop announces new program.

Stop & Shop Supermarket in Port Washington has launched a new pickup service where customers may order groceries online.

There are no fees associated with the service, no minimum order and no need to get out of the car, according to company officials who announced the plan Tuesday.

After setting a one-hour pickup time from morning through evening, customers may pull up at the store, located at 65 Shore Rd., and wait as attendants load groceries right into their vehicle.

Pickup shoppers may create personal lists, read nutrition information online, sort products rapidly by price or by nutrition criteria and take advantage of thousands of weekly specials.
