Long Island Student Sues Hotel Over Sexy-Encounter Gone Awry

Talk about back pain.

A Long Island college student is giving the ailment new meaning, thanks to a romantic interlude gone awry in Puerto Rico.

Things took a turn for the worse for Jacob Elliott during a sexual encounter at the posh Ritz-Carlton Hotel in San Juan. The 20-year old Woodbury resident was “having sex with a ‘female paramour’" at the resort “when his naked back somehow landed on the nightstand which had a broken glass corner, according to court papers,” the New York Daily News reported.

Elliot endured a six-inch laceration on his left shoulder as a result, according to the Daily News. Treated by the hotel’s doctor, he later saw a plastic surgeon.

Any liability is now left to the legal system.

Court papers show that Marriott International and the Ritz-Carlton are being sued for “negligence for failing to maintain the room in safe condition,” according to the Daily News, which noted that on Tuesday the hotel attorneys submitted documents in Brooklyn Federal Court to change the venue.

While Elliot’s attorney was mum on the case, the hotel attorneys maintain that their client is not liable, noting that the Woodbury resident should have realized any potential dangers by “entering into the activity in which (Elliott) was engaging in at the time,” the Daily News reported.
