MSG, Barclays and the Coliseum

The race to develop the Nassau Coliseum is down to two appicants. Which would you choose?

By Ed Robinson

It may look like a local sports rivalry, but it's actually the race to find a developer for the Nassau Coliseum.

County Executive Ed Mangano announced that the Madison Square Garden Company and Forest City Ratner Companies, run by Bruce Ratner, the man behind the Barclays Center, are the two finalists.

MSG has proposed a privately funded $250 million, 14,500-seat arena, with a flexible seating capacity that could go down to 1,700 when needed.

Ratner's $229 million proposal calls for  a 13,000-seat arena with the ability to go down to 4,000 seats.

We want to know what you think.  Which proposal should Mangano accept? Let us know in the comment section below.
