New Job Search Boot Camp for Recent College Grads, Job Seekers

Register at Port Washington Public Library.

Recent college graduates and other job seekers from Port Washington are invited to register for the Port Washington Public Library's next Job Search Boot Camp, which will start Thursday, May 30.

In-person registration begins on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 9am, or by calling 516-883-4400 x136. Port Washington residents are encouraged to sign up early.

The Job Search Boot Camp is presented by the library's Jobs & Careers Information Center. The program is an eight week intensive workshop that aims to help participants secure employment through networking. The program will take place May 30; June 6, 13, 20, 27; and July 11, 18, 25.

The program also aims to work with participants so that they are motivated to conduct an effective job search, guided towards time management and developing job objectives, assisted with their personal brand and elevator pitch to build their profile, given resume and cover letter advice, coached for interviews, and advised about building an effective network to find a job in today’s marketplace.

The Job Search Boot Camp will be taught by Maria Themistocleous-Frey, president and founder of Executive Consultants of New York, a business that specializes in career coaching and professional development.

This program is hosted by the Port Washington Public Library and sponsored by a grant from Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel.
