Port Washington Entrepreneur Gears Up for Port Holiday Magic

Wendy Collett is offering discounts for her company, Dry Babe.

Port Washington entrepreneur Wendy Collett is ready for Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24.

That’s the same day as Port Holiday Magic, when there will be entertainment along Main Street, free trolley rides, and dozens of merchants offering "shoppertainment" specials from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Collet owns Dry Babe, a provider of absorbent sleepwear for women who are experiencing night sweats. While Dry Babe is an online company, it is offering 20 percent off on Small Business Saturday for shoppers who use coupon code shopsmall and also on Cyber Monday with code cyber20.

It’s “A little bit of a different twist – local internet business instead of brick and mortar,” she said.

Collett is active in the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce, recently serving as a judge in the SOUPer Bowl. Recently, she was named the "Small Business Person of the Year" by the Nassau County Chambers of Commerce.

Like other business owners in town, she’s looking to Port Holiday Magic as a way to reward loyal customers, and also raise awareness about her company to new audiences. And while she has their attention, she’s debuting some new items.

“We are premiering our new Sweet Dreams by Dry Babe chemise and introducing new colors for the other existing garments,” she said.
