I like King Kullen on Shore Rd in Port Washington for overall value. I shop there a few times per week.

Uncle G's is about the best store on Port. There selection of meat, fish, vegies and their dele counter is the BEST, the cooked food is great and a wide selection. Great sales and very friendly people who say hello and know your name. Mia is the best always smiling and can recomend how to prepare some of the best pasta dishes.

I like different stores for different things. Stop & Shop has good organics, but I don't like the layout of the store. The recent changes haven't really improved the layout either. Like milk/dairy in two different locations. I like North Shore Farms for steaks, but haven't always liked the service. I haven't been in Port too long, must try King Kullen some more and also Uncle G's. The fish monger on Main Street across from the LIRR station has the best prices I've seen anywhere, and the fish is fresh and great. His wild Alaskan salmon is was cheaper than anywhere, including Whole Foods.
I think the store the I look forward to visiting the most and always enjoy my time there is Port Beer and Soda!

King Kullen in Glen Cove is the BEST. Above all...the employees are super nice. The double $1 coupons are great too.
The WORST employees work at Waldbaums in Glen Head. There was a man in a wheelchair who could not reach the milk on a high shelf. I was appalled when I saw not 1 but 2 employees walk by him and refuse to help. When I informed the manager, I was told that the employees are part of a union, so no disciplinary actions could be enforced.

Brother's Farm in Port on Main Street (next door from Alper's) has the best fruit platters. I don't know how the Choi family does it -- but the fruit is always perfect (even the melon!) and still tastes great a day or two after purchase. Every platter is made to order. We've tried the fruit platters at every other market in Port and I do a lot of shopping at Whole Foods, but Brother's is the place for consistently excellent fruit.

I tend to like H.C. Bohack's the best. Great produce.
Whole Foods has the best selection of organic produce and hormone-free meat. I'm grateful to have convenient access to these foods for my family.

King Kullen in Glen Cove for general prices & double coupons, and I like their willingness to donate to local charities via receipts. I bring mine to the Animal Lover's League. North Shore Farms for what can only be described as their "altar to the cheese gods" and usually excellent prices on produce. I like that they carry high end and gourmet items that are hard to find elsewhere - if I want fresh sliced mangoes, REAL Swiss mueslix instead of granola, Twinings Lapsang Souchong tea, Greek olives or a wedge of British stilton, that's the place.

Particularly out of line since it's a shared-use puddle for camp groups splashing, not a good poolRead More venue for individuals swimming.

The TONH should be under some investigation for charging such a high fee for a very short summerRead More season. You lose most of june and the pool closes in early September. Better off paying as you go just purchase the parking permit which is good at the Manorhaven Pool and the Harbor beach. Stop buying a season pass in protest to the yearly excessive price increase.

And speaking of investigations, what's up with Jonny's Roslyn CC fiasco?

Contact the Village and the water district, it's probably a problem with a pipe on your street.
