Trump, State Reach Deal on Jones Beach Site

Real estate developer Donald Trump and New York State announced Friday that an agreement has been reached for a long-stalled restaurant and catering facility at in Wantagh. Under the terms of the agreement, Trump on the Ocean LLC will build and operate a facility with a foot-print of 38,560 square feet at the former site of the Boardwalk Café, which closed in 2003. Trump on the Ocean will include a public restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating accommodating more than 400 people, and catering areas that can accommodate up to 1,250 guests, according to officials for the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) .

Tim Tebow publicly denied rumors that he is moving to Northport during a press conference at the New York Jets mini-camp practice session earlier this month, according to a transcript published on SB Nation. "I can deny (that). I have never been there," the quarterback told reporters. "It is just another one of those rumors like, 'I am living in Hoboken.'"  Rumors began that Tebow was eying property in downtown Northport after he was reportedly seen enjoying tacos at on June 5.

Zipcar Launches in the Hamptons

The 12-year-old Zipcar car rental company that started in Massachusetts has taken a leap, launching in the Hamptons this summer. According to Jessica Margolis-Pineo, the public relations director for Zipcar, Zipcars are now available in several locations across the Hamptons.

The New York Yankees aren't talking about Rusty Torres, but one thing is certain:The former Yankee an 8-year-old girl in Plainview while working for the isn't invited to Sunday's Old-Timers' Day game in the Bronx.

Torres, 63, played parts of two seasons in the Bronx in the 1970s. After his playing days ended, his one and only appearance in an Old-Timers' Day game was in the 2003 edition at Yankee Stadium.

Volunteers are needed for The Barclays Tournament in August, the first event in the PGA Tour playoffs for the FedExCup. The tournament is scheduled for – Black Course Aug.21-26.

Union members of West Islip School District's custodial staff came rallied in front of West Islip High School Monday to protest "wholesale changes of workers' hours and shifts made by the district without notice."

The changes are "playing havoc on people’s lives" said Kevin Boyle Jr., president of the United Public Service Employees Union. According to Boyle, 22 to 23 custodians are being moved from day shifts to night and night shifts to day.
