When I was first offered the job to work on Port Patch as an advertising manager, I was excited because it is very convenient to live and work in the same town. Although I have lived in town since early 2002, I never really got a chance to know as many business owners as I wanted to. Usually because life gets so busy and casual conversation is sometimes not in the "schedule."
So, today of all days, when I am still without power, I would like to thank the staff at Old Shore Animal Clinic for helping me make a very difficult decision about our 15-year-old dog, Daniel Gale for giving me a place to charge my laptop to proof ads, Finn MacCool's for the most delicious cup of French onion soup, H On The Harbor for helping me manage conflicts with an event and Tony at Lacorte's for getting my car a new battery in the middle of all of this mess. Hopefully I did not leave anyone out, but the bottom line is, we are lucky to live in a town who has such amazing and giving businesses. They have the ability to do what big box retailers can't.
Also, a huge thank you to so many friends who have reached out offering us anything we need including a place to stay.

I am also very fortunate to work with an editor, Adina Genn, who has devoted so many hours covering the storm. She has been posting stories 24/7 and I appreciate all she has done in terms of getting information to the community as quickly as she recieves it.
Stay warm everyone-
