For over a decade the residents have been have been supporting these local efforts to find a cure for diabetes. The total raised between dinners and other local events has reached $780,000!
Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton has been an avid supporter of diabetes research for many years and has been part of this tremendous local effort since day one. Because of her commitment and work on this type of issue, Delia has been named Ranking Member of the Health & Human Services Committee at the Nassau County Legislature.

Regarding the dinner, Delia said, “The theme of Cooking for a Cure has always been hope,” she said. “We believe that the DRI is so dedicated to finding a cure for our children that one day our hope for a cure will turn into a reality.”
