LIRR Port Washington Service Down Briefly

Service resumed quickly after delays were caused by disabled train in Little Neck.

Long Island Railroad service has resumed to the Port Washington branch after a  brief delay caused by a disabled train in Little Neck.

At 11:50 a.m., the 11:09 a.m. from Port Washington to Penn Station was delayed in Little Neck because of equipment trouble. Just after noon, service was temporarily suspended.  By 12:30 p.m., residual delays of up to 45 minutes were reported in both directions.

By 1:00 p.m., however, service was restored and trains began running on or close to schedule.
