LIRR to Open Information Center in Port Washington Monday
LIRR president Helena Williams to attend 1 p.m. event.
LIRR President Helena Williams will be on hand today at 1 p.m. in Port Washington Monday to open an information center aimed at providing the public with information about a proposal for the extension of tracks in the the local train yard.
The track extension will help improve service for Port Washington, Plandome and Manhasset customers as well as allow for more service to Manhattan when the East Side Access project to Grand Central is complete, according to LIRR officials.
The information center will be located at the Port Washington LIRR Station, at the intersection of Main Street and Haven Avenue.
