May 23: Buckle Up and 42nd Street Auditions

Doings around Port Washington.

1. Monday may bring showers, thunderstorms and temperatures nearing 68 degrees. 

2. starts Monday, May 23, and runs through Sunday, June 5. This means that police in Port Washington and elsewhere in Nassau County will be out in full force, helping to ensure that drivers and passengers comply with seatbelt safety laws. 

3. Drivers take note: police will also be on the lookout for cellular telephone use violations, aggressive driving and blocking the box by vehicles which impedes traffic flow.

4. For all of those students out there gifted in music and dance, this year's  – “42nd Street” – will be holding the last of two auditions at . It is recommended that those interested show up by 6:45 p.m.  Auditions are open to students entering seventh grade in the fall to graduating seniors.
