Nov. 12: An Art Heist, Some Fundraisers and Restaurant Week

Doings around Port Washington.

Friday brings a basketball fundraiser, a fall cocktail party and discounts at dinner. Plus a Rolling Stones tribute and a museum heist. 

1. It's the"Battle of the Buildings" and it takes place at the  gym. Teachers and staff from the high school and middle school will challenge each other in a full-court basketball game. Proceeds support the schools. Game starts at 7 p.m. Learn more.

3. Ulrich Boser, author of "The Gardner Heist: The True Story of the World's Largest Unsolved Art Theft" will be at the Port Washington Public Library. He'll discuss the theft of one Vermeer, three Rembrandts, five Degas, and the $5 million reward that never resulted in a single painting. Books will be available for purchase and signing. This event starts at 12:10 p.m.

4. Also at the library: LIVE@PWPL – Street Fighter presents its tribute to The Rolling Stones. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
