Nov 19: The Three C's – Curtains, Chopin and Civil War Tunes

1. It's parent-teacher conference day in the district's elementary schools, which means a day off for the kids.

3. It's "Curtains" – again – at. The musical comedy hits the stage Friday at 7:30 p.m. Note: this year, there is no Sunday performance, but the you can also see the show Saturday for a matinee or in the evening. Learn more.

5. Also at the library: live music, when pianist Jacqueline Schwab presents "Music in Mark Twain's America." The evening includes vintage American music from Stephen Foster and Civil War tunes, Victorian ballroom dances, Scots and Irish traditional tunes, hymns, spirituals and ragtime. Schwab's music has been featured in various Ken Burns' documentaries. 7:30 p.m.
