Power Outage in Port Washington

Sands Point, Manorhaven, Port North and Baxter Estates Affected

Nearly 5,000 homes and businesses on the Port Washington peninsula  are without power, according to the Long Island Power Authority. The areas of Sands Point, Port Washington North, Baxter Estates, and Manorhaven have been affected. 

The power outage occurred just before 12 p.m. At 12:13 p.m., the Long Island Rail Road reported that the ticket vending machines at the station were not in service because of the outage. However, service at the railroad was restored by 12:30 p.m.

Calls to LIPA confirmed that repair crews were working to restore power.
