Question of The Day: MTV

It's MTV's 30th birthday. What music did you love best on the network?

It was 30 years ago Monday that MTV launched as a network focused on playing music videos and quickly became a huge force in popular culture.

The network went live at 12:01 a.m. with a clip of the launch of Apollo and the first mooon landing, followed by its first video, The Buggles' "Video Killed the Radio Star," followed by Pat Benatar's "You Better Run."

In the three decades since, the network transformed itself numerous times into a source of fewer videos but more information about concerts and entertainment news, eventually adding original programming.
