Results in for Turkey Trot

New details about the popular Port Washington run.

The results are in for this year's Community Chest Thanksgiving Day Run, which drew nearly 3,000 participants.

Sidharth Kakkar, age 17, of Port Washington was the top finisher overall with a time of 26:12, and Kelsey Budd also of Port, age 23, was the top female finisher at 31:27.

The event featured runners and walkers of all ages, ranging from 82-year old Joan Hulkower of Port Washington to 9-year old Noreen Kelly of Centerport.

Top male finishers also include Port Washington’s 18-year-old Ryan Schwartz (27:20), Scott Nelson (27:29), Craig Nelson (27:30) and Cary Segall (28:15).  Top female runners also include 16-year old Joelle Feinberg of Port Washington (32:35), Hope Bertrand (32:41) and Melissa Ugelow (32:51) along with Port Washington’s Bianca Luparello (33:44).

Among female runners, top finishers from Port Washington include in the 9-12 age group, Maddi Jeser; 25-29 age group Theresa McCabe; 45-49 age group, Jacqueline Caulfield; 55-59 age group Kathleen Donovan; 60-64 age group Keith Mait; and Joan Hulkower (80-84 age group).

Among male runners, top finishers from Port Washington include: Aaron Siff-Scherr  (13-15 age group); Sidharth Kakkar (16-19 age group); Matthew Driscoll (40-44 age group), Takuo Katayama (45-49 age group);Andre Bertolotti (50-54 age group); and Robert Brooks (65-69 age group)

The Thanksgiving Day Run is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Community Chest of Port Washington, according to the organization, whose mission is to help Port Washington residents.

”We’d like to thank everyone that participated and made this such a successful community event," said Julie Meer Harnick, executive director of Community Chest, in a statement. "The race wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing help of hundreds of volunteers and the support of the Town of North Hempstead, the Port Washington Police and Fire Medics, the Sands Point Police and the Nassau County Police, along with the Villages of Manorhaven, Sands Point, Baxter Estates and Port Washington North.
