Schreiber Student Receives Admission to All-National Honors Band

Ethan Usoskin recently selected to participate in Nashville next month.

School officials announced Tuesday that Schreiber High School student Ethan Usoskin was recently selected to participate in the 2013 National Association for Music Education All-National Honors Band (NAfME). 

The prestigious event will be held from Oct 27-30 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tenn.

With the assistance of his music teachers, Ethan prepared challenging music with which he auditioned. Usoskin was one of approximately 900 talented high school students performing.

NAfME was founded in 1907 with 64 members; currently, membership has grown to more than 130,000. The membership consists of music teachers, university faculty, college students preparing to be teachers and high school honor society members. NAfME is known as one of the world’s largest arts education organizations, it is the only association that addresses all aspects of music education. Additionally, NAfME advocates at the local, state and national levels and offers resources for teachers, parents and administrators; presents professional development events; and proposes a variety of opportunities for students and teachers.  

In a press release, Schreiber officails said they are "proud of Ethan’s outstanding musical talent" and wished him well for continued success.
