Voter turnout was "very busy all day," said Dough Augenthaler, a garbage district commissioner, who was at the polls since 11 a.m. A likely draw was the race for the police commissioner and the proposed plan for a new police headquarters. But by nightfall, when the temperatures dropped, turnout dwindled, Augenthaler said.
