Sunday in Port Washington with Music

Enjoy an afternoon of free music in Port Washington.

 is presenting Jester of Jive with its "Zoot Suit Boogie." This afternoon features a six-piece band with brass, vocals, dancers and celebrity impersonators who revive the Jive and Lindy Hop era. 3 p.m. 

Part of Port Washington's rich musical heritage includes , a part of the community since 1895. On Sunday, its choir will perform the 10th annual performance of Handel's "Messiah," along with a 13-piece orchestra. Soloists include Maria Whisenand, soprano; Deborah Berruete-Fuhrman, mezzo soprano; David Reck, tenor; Daniel Klein, bass and Joseph Carucci, baritone.  St. Stephen's minister of music, Mark van Schenkhof of Port Washington, will conduct the St. Stephen's choir. 4:30 p.m.
