The Holiday Spirit on Patch

It's December and the holiday season has arrived. We want to help you get the word out on your events and special needs.

Although  is this Saturday, Patch is paying special attention to the festivities throughout December. Do you have an event that deserves special attention in Patch? A school concert? A fund-raiser? A need for volunteers? We want all of them and plan to publish them prominently and throughout the month in our Holiday Guide.

So be sure to send us your stories, photos and publicity needs.

Here are some of the stories we're planning this month for our Holiday Guide. Many will be featured prominently, then updated as we receive new information:

Nonprofits collecting holiday donations. (We'll make an effort to include all charitable giving opportunities by local non-profits.)

Places to choose a Christmas tree. (Tell us your perennial favorite places to take the kids to pick out the best Blue Spruce or Scotch Pine. Places a short drive from Port Washington are fine for this one.)

Places with public New Year’s Eve parties. (This will run later in the month.)

Places open on Christmas Day. (If your business is open, let us know.)

Houses of worship holiday services schedule.

Places to catch a holiday performance: (Same thing: We'll gladly run all holiday performances, from elementary school shows to professional performances nearby. We just need to know about them. We can't attend them all, but we will run your photos of the event afterward.)

Local gift guide – feature unique items featuring locally-owned businesses (If you're locally owned, tell us about something special you offer the community not available elsewhere. Perhaps its simply a gift certificate, an exotic food or desert, a unique craft.)
