'Trunk or Treat': Halloween Lived On at Sousa

Not even 'Sandy' could dampen the holiday for these families.

Port Washington parents got creative on Wednesday, offering their children a fun and safe way to enjoy Halloween.

They coordinated a "Trunk or Treat" Halloween event at the Sousa Elementary School parking lot, where familes from all over town met Wednesday afternoon. "Their car trunks were opened and kids went from trunk-to-trunk trick or treating in a safe, fun way," Gail Tuthill said.

"It was a terrific example of a community quickly coming together and making sure that the kids stayed safe and still enjoyed Halloween," she added.
