Well-Priced, Renovated Homes in Demand in Port Washington

A new report shows more houses listed in 2011 than a year ago.

When it comes to Port Washington real estate, buyers are seeing a bigger selection now than they did a year ago.

That's according to a July report by 

During the first half of 2011, there were 224 homes listed in Port Washington, up from 211 during the same period a year ago, according to the report.   

However, fewer homes went into contract – 88 in 2011, and 100 in 2010. As for closings, there were 72 in 2011, and 80 in 2010.

“There are buyers in the market, but they are buying homes that are well priced,” Emma McMahon, a Daniel Gale vice president and sales manager stated, in a press release. “Homes that are priced well and renovated are in demand.”

Sands Point saw 41 homes in the market in 2011, and 44 in 2010.  There were 13 contract signings in 2011, and 12 in 2010. There were 15 closings in 2011 and 12 in 2010.
