Arrived in Charlotte Saturday evening. Was immediately picked up and taken to the Media party at the North Carolina Music Factory. A huge crowd filled the space, dancing along to the live band who covered many American hits. I met up with the team and Senator Strauss in the VIP area. There they served amazing pulled pork with many delicious sauces. Attendees included the chairwoman of the DNC Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Antonio Villaraigosa - Mayor of LA, Anthony Foxx- Mayor of Charlotte.
Today we have been busy making appearances around Charlotte. Slowly through out the day, they have been locking down the city. More and more blockades are being out up and thousands of police litter the streets on bikes, motorcycles, horses, and military grade golf carts. The Obama circle symbol is everywhere, including mossy mirror at hotel.
Tonight we will be going to the DC welcome party at Discovery Place, as well as a party where Bill Nye the Science Guy will be making an appearance. Child hood dreams = complete.
Things are really starting to heat up down here!
