Navigating the Preserve
9:15 to 10:30 a.m. Pre-registration is required.
How did Columbus discover America? Was America his actual destination? Become an explorer at the Sands Point Preserve and navigate your way to fun discoveries on the grounds! Two exciting courses of discovery await you: one using North/South/East/West navigation, and a second more advanced path using degree readings for 8-year-olds and up. Bring a compass (or borrow one of ours) or use your smartphone app. Instruction will be provided.

Giant Indoor Earth Balloon
11:00 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 1:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required.
Imagine a 19-foot inflated model of the earth made of actual photographs of our planet! See the vast oceans and great continents in a view that only space travelers can see. The 30-minute presentation features a walk around the globe, Columbus’ travel route and an adventure inside the globe. Stay for a ‘geographical’ craft project. Recommended for 4-year-olds and up.
Admission: $20 per car / $10 with Annual Pass – includes the Navigating the Preserve program at 9:15 a.m.
