Christmas Eve Service

 ,   Add to calendar
 Port Washington  See map

The latter Christmas Eve service begins at 10:30pm as the Choir and instrumentalists under the direction of the congregation's Director of Music, Federico Teti, present Antonio Vivaldi's "Gloria."

The Candlelight Service of Holy Communion (the Christ Mass) begins immediately after the musical offering.  A traditional Lutheran liturgy, derived from the western Latin Church's Mass, intersperses the liturgical sections -- Gathering, Word, Response, Eucharist & Sending -- with Christmas carols and special music.

As the sanctuary lights dim and the church is bathed in candlelight, most everyone enjoys singing the beloved carol, "Silent Night, Holy Night," before the final prayer and blessing sends you home with renewed faith God's grace and peace.

All are welcome.  There are no strangers or "others" at Our Savior's.  Persons of all faiths and of no faith are invited to come and pray with us on this holy night.
