Community Interfaith Thanksgiving Eve Service

A Port tradition since 1940, the annual Community Interfaith Thanksgiving Eve Service is sponsored by the Clergy Association of Port Washington.  This year's service is hosted by the Rector, Vestry & people of St. Stephen's Church.  The Thanksgiving message will be delivered by Rabbi Danny Burkeman, associate rabbi of The Community Synagogue of Sands Point.  A massed choir under the direction of Mr. Mark van Schenkhof will sing "Hiney Mah Tov" by Iris Levine and "God Our Creator" from Felix Mendelssohn's "Elijah."  A free-will offering will be gathered for Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief.  Worshipers are invited to bring shelf-stable, non-perishable food for the Outreach program at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church under the director of Sr. Kathy Sommerville, O.P. A coffee reception follows the service in the church's Parish Hall.
