A quasi-Western set on the wintry Canadian border, DEADFALL is a tense Thanksgiving like no other. Two siblings on the run after a heist and caught in a white-out. They split up, the brother (Eric Bana) heading for the border, while the sister (Olivia Wilde) gets picked by a troubled boxer (Charlie Hunnam) headed home for Thanksgiving. Featuring Sissy Spacek and Kris Kristofferson as the parents, Austrian director Stefan Ruzowitzky, whose Holocaust film The Counterfeiters won the Academy Award for best foreign-language film in 2008, has fashioned a suspenseful and atmospheric thriller in which a twist of fate sets the film's characters on a collision course, hurtling this icy thriller to a shocking climax. Rated R for violence.
