Porcupine & Its 30,000 Quills at Sands Point Preserve

During school vacation week, take an up-close look at the North American porcupine.  In this one-hour interactive presentation of live animals, we'll explore this solitary, nocturnal rodent's physical characteristics and behaviors. For example, it is active year-round and best known for its sharp spines or quills - but it is not at all aggressive. We'll also compare the porcupine with a couple of its friends - the hedgehog and opossum.
