Varsity Choral Society Christmas Concert

The
Varsity Choral Society, a program of Port Washington Play Troupe, presents its
24th Annual Christmas Concert.

Directed by Craig Tocher (also the Music
Director at the Congregational Church), the choir will be accompanied by organ and strings. The program will include “Gloria” by Antonio Vivaldi, “Exultate
Justi” by Randol Alan Bass, and Christmas carol arrangements by Robert Shaw/Alice
Parker and Howard Helvey.
The evening will conclude with the Varsity Choral

Society’s traditional audience sing-along of popular carols.

Tickets, for $20.00, will be available at the door on the day of the performance.

About the Varsity Choral Society
The Varsity Choral Society consists of professional and talented amateur

vocalists from Port Washington, Manhasset and the greater Town of North

Hempstead, but is open to anyone interested in the challenge of singing fine

choral music. The choir began in tribute to Jerald B. Stone of Paul D.

Schreiber High School (where he taught from 1967 to 1982). At Schreiber, Stone
led a select choral group called the "Varsity Choir," and the

founding members of VCS adapted this name as a way to honor him—as well as
invite him to conduct—in VCS’s earlier years.
