Winter Songs A Solstice concert and sing along.

Venture Crew 556 and the United Methodist Church of Port Washington for “Winter

Songs,”  a song-filled evening of holiday and winter cheer on Saturday, December

21, 2014.  The concert  is a benefit to raise funds to support the activities of

the Crew’s youth members (co-ed ages 14 – 21) and to continue the refurbishment

of the Church’s Fellowship Hall, where the concert will be held.  The activities will begin

at 6 P.M. with a home cooked pasta dinner for $5 (children under 5 eat free). 

Beverages and desserts will also be available for purchase.  The musical portion

of the evening will begin at 7 PM with performances by local singer/songwriter,

Shannon Ferguson, local  composer-pianist-arranger, Solomon Hoffman and a number

of other talented musicians, including Mike Agranoff, Honor Finnegan, Josh Joffen and Eric

Frandsen.  The evening will cap off with a featured performance by Long Island’s

own Gathering Time, whose performance will feature  the seasonal music of The

Mamas and the Papas, Simon and Garfunkle, Joni Mitchell and others.  Gathering

Time will  lead a sing along following their performance.  Suggested donation

for admission is $12 for adults, $8 for students from middle school through

college and seniors;  children under 12  are free.  CD’s will be available for

sale if you need a last-minute holiday gift.  Reservations are not necessary but
