Port Washington Girl, 6, Donates Hair for A Cause

Susannah Abell felt happy to part with 11 inches of her hair to help another child feel less self-conscious about medical-related hair loss.

Cutting 11 inches of her brown mane, which took 18 months to grow, was no problem for six-year-old Susannah Abell.

The Port Washington resident donated her hair to Locks of Love over the weekend. The non-profit organization donates hair to children with medical-related hair loss.

Now sporting a trendy bob and a super-happy grin, Susannah “is very happy that her donation may make another child feel less self-conscious about not having hair of his/her own,” her dad, Kenneth Abell, told Patch.
