Build Senior Housing at The Roslyn Country Club

Build senior housing at the Roslyn Country Club.

I was so happy to see that the Town of North Hempstead bought the 7.3 acre Roslyn Country Club.

It’s great news because the TONH now has a place to build much needed senior housing.

If the TONH will transfer 1.5 acres to the North Hempstead Housing Authority, the NHHA can re-open the recently locked-up Alvin Petrus Park and build senior housing in Roslyn.

It's a win-win for North Hempstead, seniors will get much needed housing and the kids who lost their park in Port Washington can get it re-opened so they have a place to play.

Let’s all congratulate Supervisor Jon Kaiman for figuring out how to house seniors and reopen a park with one purchase of land.

Call NHHA Executive Director Sean Rainey at (516) 627-6433 X16

Email Supervisor Jon Kaiman and let him know what a win-win this is

Exactly right on, we need Senior Housing to keep loved ones in the community but we also need the Alvin Petrus park, this is a great solution!

What an excellent idea and problem solved. The children can have a safe place to play as all of the children are in Port and NHHA Mr. Cuomo and Mr. Rainey can now build there senior facility and what better place than on a golf course of 20+ acres way more space than Petrus park which is only 1.5. Good job Jon Kaiman Good Job!

get your heads examined , you are congratulating Kaiman for something you think he should do ? are you on one of his no show jobs payroll??????

@NH Taxpayer, why else would Mr. Kaiman buy so much property if he didn't want to build senior housing and reopen a park at the same time. I thought it was such a great idea I wanted to offer him my thanks.

It's a wonderful idea on TONH. Now they can open the Petrus park and watch the children flourish in a safe place to play close to home and they can stop playing in the street.

Come to the TONH Board meeting July 31 and let our town board know we want senior housing as part of the Roslyn Country Club and that the children or Port Washington deserve their Alvin Petrus Park Re-Opened.

Support for Petrus Park from "Residents for a More Beautiful PW" notably absent. Make you wonder?
Donna Rice July 20, 2012 at 05:43 PM
"Residents" are in bed with Jon Kaiman. Kaiman gave them a $100,000 grant and just appointed Mindy Germain as Water Commissioner. "Residents" will not support anything Jon Kaiman does not support.

Good this should go to a vote.

@ Nassau Taxpayer are you suggesting a Bingo Hall at the Roslyn Country Club? this is a great activity for seniors and can raise money for the Town of North Hempstead as well. Great idea! Please come to the July 31st TONH meeting and suggest this great idea.
Nassau Taxpayer July 21, 2012 at 11:42 AM
LOL. ToNH probably would demand a vig on senior Bingo. Actually, "Residents" looking like "Astroturf" at best, and more recently, their "grass roots" appear to be "bought-and-sold"
