Every school has their own head lice policy. Some schools allow children to return immediately following lice treatment with a lice shampoo. Other school districts have adopted a no-nits policy, which means that children may only return to school after all the lice and nits, including dead nits, have been removed. Checking with your school nurse can prevent the child from being sent back home again and causing needless embarrassment to your child.
