I have only lived in Manorhaven for the past four years and whether right or wrong, never had an interest in local politics.
I started following the campaign after receiving an unsigned piece of mail against one of the candidates. I had hoped that the candidate the letter was obviously trying to promote would have the decency to ask whomever was sending the letter to stop, so this could be a non-smear campain.
I then received letter two, three , four and five. I wondered who was funding these very expensive mailing costing in the tens of thousands of dollars and possibly into six figures? I was very dissapointed that the other candidate sent out one letter but at least that was hand delivered. Why would someone spend tens of thousands-plus of dollars? What are they trying to cover up that another mayor might find? Who is backing the money and where does it come from? Why can't you sign the letter and not act like some back street bully? I would like to see these questions answered. Some will certainly benefit.
Why can't our village have a candidate who has to send numerous letters telling me what Giunta has not done or what her family is involved in or learning about her car? Why don't you tell me what you plan to do or have done, come out behind your big signs and talk to the people. Try listening. I really don't care if Giunta registers her car in Florida or in Romania. Why, Giunta, lower yourself to have to have a retort letter coming out? The last letter telling me about a man who was supposedly in a crime family telling everyone to vote for Giunta was probably in the top three of the most stupid letters I have EVER seen. The article was from 11 years ago.
Well, your letter did work. I did investigate some of your claims and also investiagted some articles and facts about you.
In future elections, give residents a break, and just tell us the facts. We should also not allow these ridiculous signs put all over and especially on lawns. Have a debate, have a question-and-answer session against each other. Manorhaven people are very nice and intelligent people who care about our area. Try telling us the truth.
