OPINION: Thanks Former Councilman Fred Pollack

A Port Washington block is illuminated, thanks to Pollack's efforts, the writer says.

I would like to acknowledge and thank Fred Pollack for his work and dedication during his past term as town councilperson.

After living on Terrace Drive /Terrace Court for the past 13 years and having no street lights on our beautiful Port Washington street, Fred persevered to get lovely, colonial style street lights on our block. The request was made by a group of neighbors several months ago to Fred and the lights were finally installed after Fred left office.

Our block is much safer and happier now. Even though the lights were not put in while Fred was office we want to acknowledge his hard work and dedication for getting them for us.
