The district is seeking job candidates.

I am Lieutenant Brian Staley, a thirty-one year member of the Port Washington Police District and presently serving as the Commander of Patrol. I have performed duties in various capacities throughout my career which include Patrol Officer, Minority Community Liaison Officer, Patrol Supervisor and Desk Officer. It has been both an exciting and challenging experience that has taken me across the country training with some of the best professionals this field has to offer, as well as working with local village government, community and business entities, and various Law Enforcement agencies. This experience has increased my knowledge of Law Enforcement and empowered me to be a better professional.
The Port Washington Police District has many opportunities for advancement and recognition. The Port Washington Police presently has a Detective Division, Motorcycle Unit, Bicycle Unit, Gang Unit, Plainclothes Details (Crime Prevention), School Resource Officer, Tactical Firearms Training Unit and a Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Unit. All members of the Port Washington Police District including dispatchers, school crossing guards, and parking enforcement agent work as a team to make Port Washington one of the safest communities to live in on the North Shore.   
The Port Washington Police District is seeking candidates to participate in the Nassau County Police Exam scheduled for December 9, 2012. Applications are being accepted until October 12, 2012. Candidates must be at least (17) seventeen years of age and have not reached their (35) thirty-fifth birthday by the date of the exam.

I'd like to know if there are any jobs available other than "police officer." I would be interested in working for Nassau law enforcement.
