Stonytown triangle lights

It's a shame that $200,000 were spent on the lights at Stonytown triangle when the stop signs put there temporarily worked so well.

Clearly marked right-of-ways and reliance on civility trump ugly over-engineered clusters of lights that bunch up traffic and is inappropriate at late hours.

At least make the lights blink red at night.

One might never know why drivers attitudes suddenly changed for the worse, but the county felt there was enough cause to re-design the triangle. I do not think the county would have spent a large sum of taxpayers money to re-design the triangle considering people might complain. Lets see what the public has to say about this issue. Consider that the triangle was completed quite some time ago and the light (not turned on at the time) was installed and I did not read or hear anyone complain about the new configuration or traffic light. Your comment was the very first i have come across. I am not a fan of traffic lights but they have a purpose lets hope a camera dose not follow.

Another one of Obama's "shovel ready" projects that was not needed has been completed

I recall questions being raised about the need for the project, in both Plandome and Manhasset, before construction even began.

You should know better than to question our elected officials wisdom about how to spend our money
