Thanks Peter Forman for Supplying Knowledge in Port Washington When Power Went Out

Updates keep residents informed, the author says.

Dear Port Washington,

Knowledge is power. In this last week of power outages, no heat, no hot water and for many of us, living in our homes and elsewhere in darkness and cold, there was one voice on which we could depend. Peter Forman. His clear concise messages before, during and after the storm were so very helpful in keeping us posted on the updates regarding shelters, precautions, food and other issues important to us all.

Peter takes his responsibility as Commissioner of the Office of Emergency Management very seriously. He informed us of the Points Of Distribution and meals and warming centers and movies for kids and many other activities that helped us all know that there was another choice for us in this great time of need. He gave short messages with information specific to our community with no politicizing or embellishment.  He worked hard for us to have power when Hurricane Sandy took it away.

Thanks Peter for keeping us all informed. I appreciate all your hard work, concern and care for your community. At a time when power was taken away, you gave us the information we needed.

Knowledge is power.
