On Saturday night, August 10th several of us were on a Transit Mooring in Manhasset Bay watching the sun set. At 7:15pm three different boater's attempted to reach North Hempstead Patrol. After several attempts from these boaters, they finally answered. They advised North Hempstead Patrol of a safety issue in the anchorage area of Capri Cove, regarding PWC's being operated in an unsafe and dangerous manner. The Bay Constables acknowledge the info, but NEVER responded. 30 minutes later another vessel called in the same complaint. Again, message acknowledge, but there was NO responding by the North Hempstead Bay Constables. At 8:21pm, North Hempstead Patrol Boat, Marine 10, left the Town Dock with one Bay Constable on board and slowly motored out of Manhasset Bay, NEVER responding to Capri Cove. This is not the first time this kind of lack of response by North Hempstead Harbor Patrol has occurred. Why do we have all these personnel and two $250,000.00 plus tax payer funded vessels that just sit at the dock every night. You can be assured that the next time there is a problem in Manhasset Bay, I will be advising my fellow boater's to contact Nassau County Police Marine Bureau.
