Animal Rescue Workers Help Catalogue Cats

The cats were inspected and cataloged at Sands Point Preserve

Animal rescue workers form Animal Lovers League of Glen Cove helped check out and catalogue nearly 70 cats found in cages on the old Guggenheim Tennis Courts at the on Tuesday.

Some of the cats are believed to be reported missing pets from nearby homes. is working with the Animal Lovers League to restore the cats to health and hopefully reunite some of them with their owners and find good homes for the rest.

Police and county officials are still investigating and trying to determine who captured and caged the cats. They have no comment about the investigation at this time.
