Bicyclist Dies When Hit by Vehicle in Port Washington

The incident took place on Port Washington Boulevard at Marino Avenue.

An unindentified male bicyclist was killed in Port Washington early Sunday morning when he was struck by a vehicle,said.

A woman driving a 2007 Honda sedan struck the bicyclist, who was headed north on Port Washington Boulevard at Marino Avenue at 4:16 a.m., according to police, who did not identify the driver.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Although the woman was not charged, her car was impounded for a safety check.

The “investigation is ongoing,” said Port Washington’s Assistant Police Chief James Salerno.
