Civil Service Exam Date for Becoming Port Washington's Finest

The test will be held in December.

, the Nassau County Civil Service Commission has announced that an open competitive examination will be held on Dec. 9 for those interested in becoming police officers.

Those passing the exam become eligible to fill vacancies in the Nassau County Police Department, the Port Washington Police District and other village departments.

Candidates must be at least 17 years of age and have not reached their 35th birthday on or before the date of of the written exam.  Candidates will not be considered for appointment until they reach their 21st birthday. Time spent in military service may be deducted from the maximum age requirement up to six years.

Applications are available at Port Washington Police District Headquarters and at the Nassau County Precincts.
