Cops: 3 Charged with ATM Fraud in Manhasset

The trio are accused of a scam at U.S. Post Office.

have charged three Brooklyn residents in connection with using the ATM card of another person at a Manhasset post office Thursday morning.

Detectives say Tiana Bovell, 16, of 472 E. 48th Street, Shane Hercules, 20, of 43 Linden Blvd., and Jamal Hill, 23, of 4515 Snyder Avenue, went to the U.S. Post at 28 Maple Place in Manhasset and illegally purchased two money orders totaling $1,580 with another’s ATM card. 

The three were charged with second degree grand larceny and first degree defraud. Bovell was also charged with 1st degree identity theft.

After an investigation, police say that they discovered that these three along with others were this scheme to defraud since 2011, with a loss totaling more than $81,000 to banks, including Chase Bank, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and others. The investigation continues, police say.

All three are to be arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
