A coach bus driver faces endangerment charges for driving 42 teens, laden with a large amount of alcohol, from Garden City to Montauk, State Police said.

Riverside State officers said they received a 911 call at 9:30 p.m. Monday reporting the sound of a woman screaming at a Sunrise Highway rest stop.

Responding officers found a Coachman limousine bus with 42 teens, ages 16 and 17, in "various stages of intoxication," cops confirmed. Police also discovered more than 100 cans of beer and several empty gallon bottles of whiskey and rum on the bus.

The teens were reportedly picked up from an undisclosed location in Garden City and were bound for Montauk when police responded to the rest stop, located between Exits 65 and 66 in Southampton.

The driver, Luis Guevara-Henriquz, 26, of Hempstead, was arrested "due to the intoxication of the youths, the amount of alcohol on board, and the condition of the bus," officers stated. He was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and was released on an appearance ticket at Southampton Town Court.

The teens were turned over to relatives after the incident.

Police did not disclose the identities of the teens nor how they were able to obtain the alcohol.

Investigators said some of the students reportedly attended Sewanhaka High School, but it was not a school-sponsored event.

The teens were "on a cruise 'with no destination'" and...had no plans to get off the bus," reported Newsday.

Officers said an investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.

Why did parents of 42 teen agers allow their kids to go on this type of 'ride to nowhere' with no chaperone or at least one parent on the bus with those kids. If seems they knew what the kids were going to do and perhaps thought it OK to let someone else drive around and while they partied. Why isn't child protective services looking into each and every house to find out the answers? When the parents point one finger out to blame someone else, they have three other fingers pointing back at themselves. The driver was 'just driving as that is his job'. Why hold him accountable for the kids bad choices and their own parents neglect. These kids and their parents put someone else's life in jeopardy and the PARENTS are to blame for this incident. They and their children are accountable for their own actions. Out of 40 kids - no one asked their kids what they were going to be doing and just let them go? Do not allow all of them to all walk away without consequence. Do not punish the only one doing what he was supposed to be doing - driving.

Poor, poor parents - they just wanna be friends with their children...I say they are useless white trash whom should be charged along with their PUNKS for disorderly conduct and criminal mischief...If I'm on the jury considering punitive damages for the bus company, I say take every penny these wonderful parents have, fix the bus and donate the rest of their possesions to a parenting class on stupidity!!!
