Cops Arrest Port Washington Man for Burglary

Port Washington police charge local man with four counts of burglary.

A Port Washington man has been charged with four residential burglaries, in which police said three of the homes were occupied while the crimes were committed.

arrested Arley Canales, 18, of 9 Charles Avenue in Port Washington, on Friday, Dec. 2.

Canales was charged with four counts of second-degree burglary, as well as possession of marijuana, police said.

According to authorities, proceeds from the most recent burglary, which occurred in November, were recovered at the time of the arrest. The other three burglaries were committed in April 2011, police said.

Canales was arraigned on Saturday, Dec. 3, in Nassau County First District Court in Hempstead.
