Cops: Fake Delivery Man Tasers, Robs Victim

A man posing as a florist deliverer rang the bell of a Great Neck Plaza apartment, and then tasered the person who opened the door, tied him up and robbed him at gunpoint, authorities said.

Nassau police say the incident occurred on Tuesday at 1:52 p.m. That’s when the Great Neck Plaza victim opened his door of his Clent Road apartment to what he thought was a florist delivery man. 

According to police, the victim was tasered with a stun gun, and then struck in the head with a glass vase, which caused him to fall.

A violent struggle then ensued, and the suspect displayed a black handgun. The suspect then bound the victims’ hands and feet while on the ground. Demanding money, he then located and broke open a locked safe in a hallway closet before leaving on foot in an unknown direction, according to police.

Detectives said the suspect left with an undetermined amount of cash, diamond jewelry, passport and papers.

A Nassau County police ambulance transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he was treated for facial fractures and head trauma.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5-foot-9, and between 20 and 30 years old.
