Cops Investigate Attempted Bank Robbery in Port Washington

Police seek public's help.

Nassau detectives are investigating an attempted bank Robbery that occurred in Port Washington on Friday at 6:45 p.m.

Police say a 6-foot man with a medium build, about 25 years old, wearing a black ski mask and brown jacket entered the TD Bank at 475 Port Washington Boulevard. He passed a demand note to the teller, and threatened to use a gun. However, no weapon was seen.

The man then fled on foot in an unknown direction. There were no proceeds or injuries reported.

There were four employees in the bank at the time of the reported robbery.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
