Cops: Man Faces Assault Charges in Roslyn Incident

Man arrested outside pharmacy, after fighting with off-duty police officer, detectives say.

An East Elmhurst man has been charged with assault for an incident that took place in Roslyn on Thursday.

According to Nassau County detectives, an off-duty Nassau County police officer saw Mark Trinkler, 32, of East Elmhurst, leave a CVS Pharmacy at 373 Willis Avenue, with merchandise without paying for it.

Third Squad detectives say that once outside the store, the officer assisted the CVS store manager and attempted to place the suspect under arrest.
