Cops: Port Washington Man Arrested For Making Threat Against Town Hall

Michael Olson arrested Wednesday for making terrorist threat, say police.

Town Hall was evacuated for a brief time Wednesday after a Port Washington man became irate that the town was removing trees from his property.

According to detectives, at 10:39 a.m., the Town of North Hempstead 311 call center received a phone call from Michael Olson who was upset that trees were being removed from his property on Revere Road. 

According to police, Olson threatened to respond to Town Hall with a shotgun and shoot the windows out.

As a result of Olson’s actions, the deputy town supervisor ordered the evacuation of Town Hall, temporarily forcing daily business to stop.

At 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, with the assistance of the Port Washington Police Department, Olson was was placed under arrest without incident at his home for making a terroristic threat.

He will be arraigned in First District Court Thursday.
